We have been contacted by the British Embassy in Madrid, which is supporting a campaign led by the Electoral Commission to make British expatriates in Spain aware that they may be able to register to vote in the forthcoming EU Referendum. It seems that very many expatriates don’t realise they may be eligible to vote, and very few are registered to do so.
The Embassy has asked us to help the campaign by distributing the 8-point guide on how to register (click this link to see the guide) If you have contacts with whom the guide can be shared, or events or venues where the issue can be discussed, then please do. All that British expats need to do is check their eligibility, and then visit www.gov.uk/register-to-vote to make sure they can have their say.
