Electoral Roll, only 1 week to go !!!

LAST CALL: ELECTORAL ROLL.

Next year (24th of May 2015), Spain will hold the municipal elections. All European Residents are entitled to vote. The only requisite is that you are registered in your town hall (PADRÓN) and that you express your wish to vote for the municipal elections. This right is valid for residents and non-residents!!!
You know that associations like SOHA.ES and AUAN are trying to force a change in the Planning Law declared illegal all the houses built in the “campo” after 1975. The only hope we have to solve this injustice is to force a modification of the LOUA. Therefore, we need you to register and participate in the voting process. SOHA.ES will outline its strategy beginning 2015.
You are invited to attend the Annual General Meeting on the 21th of January 2015. (Restaurtante El Camping-La Viñuela on the road to Riogordo). You can attend as a member of SOHA.ES or as a “Friend or GUEST of SOHA.ES” (No right to vote on the propositions)

What do I do?

Go to the Town Hall with your passport and NIE document and ask them to register for the municipal elections 2015. (There is no need to re-register if you were already registered for former municipal elections.)

Contact your local SOHA.ES representative or volunteer to represent SOHA.ES in your village. We need an active representation in Canillas de Aceituno, Comares, Arenas (we have a Spanish Delagation but would welcome an English speaking representation as well), Riogordo, Velez-Málaga and Cómpeta, all above mentioned villages are sharing similar problems.

Attend the AGM on the 21th of January 2015.

We can make a difference. Therefore we need to mobilize all the Europeans living in the Axarquía region. YOU DON’T VOTE-YOU DON’T CARE. Don’t think that somebody else will solve your problem. You have to stand up for your rights. You can register to vote till 30 of December 2014!!! Don’t leave for tomorrow what you can do today.
