Priors awarded damages of 30,000 Euros
Helen and Len Prior, the retired expat couple whose home was demolished after the Junta de Andalucía revoked their building licence more than five years ago, have been awarded damages of 30,080 euros by the appeals court.
The Audiencia Nacional (AN) court in Madrid last week ordered the justice ministry to pay the amount after ruling that the Priors’ rights had been violated because the authorities failed to notify them that their building licence had been revoked in April 2004. As a result, the Priors were unaware that court proceedings had been issued against them until May 2006.
